When you are looking for a number, there are many ways you can find them. One great place to start would be by doing a general search of the Internet to see what comes up. You may know what to do to protect your number from being found online, but many others make mistakes and their numbers come up. If you have lost a number and need to find one, or you need to know who owns a number that has been calling you, Google can be your first and last stop when searching.
Your first try can be with the Google phonebook feature. This is something that most don t think to try, but can often cut through most of the irrelevant results that may come up with a general search. You put phonebook: and the number you are trying to find in the search box. When you do this, if any mention of that number is found online in the whole form, it will come up for you. This is how you may find a name to go with that number whether it is a business number or a personal number.
If that is not working, you can skip the general search and move ahead to the advanced search. This helps because like the phonebook trick, it does cut down on the results quite significantly. That means less hassle searching through pages and pages of results that really don t have anything to do with the number you have. You can include anything you wish, and you can also make sure things are left out that are not relevant.
If those don t work for you, you can try the general search on Google in case you have been too specific about what you are looking for. You can put quotes around the number to see if that helps you get something relevant (for example, “408-555-1324″. You won t always get what you need with a Google search, but it is free and so there s no harm in trying it out to see what comes up. Don t forget the other search engines as well.
